Distorted Gaze 2010

I walk by alone, in the empty streets, passing by the motionless stores.
Calm yet bizarre, the mannequins stare at me, longing for my gaze, trying to share their thoughts.
Each mannequin has her own character; while looking into their eyes, they move me.

One by one they are influenced by what we make them wear.
By taking these photographs I attempted to bring life into these faces. I tried to alter their sad reality by taking a double and triple exposure on every single face, making them virtually get away.
Each character spoke to me differently, and gave me the liberty to pair her up with an alternative imagery.

A street quote full of meaning but lacking appearance, paired up with an alive puppet with a perfected and plastic look... "Distorted Gaze"

All the photographs are taken straight from a diaporama slide film scan without any editing, therefore the editing was made during the shoot and not the post part.
These photos were exhibited in the Lebanese Photographers Journal and Spread Minds Lebanon, and they were selected in many competitions.
